If the line or column cannot be extracted, they retain the default value of 1. The hyperlinks can point to a http resource, e.g. if the code is hosted online. However, the typical use case is a custom protocol handler that launches your IDE.
Some paths in your error log will be expressed relative to your project root. If you wish to utilise the hyperlink functionality, please provide the path to your project root so that the hyperlinks can point to the correct absolute path on your filesystem.
